Review of "Miss Smilla's feeling for snow" on 'Goodreads'

4 stars

Really struggled to rate this book. On the one hand it is everything the 5* reviews say - gripping, full of suspense as the plot unwinds. I also really liked the 'quirky' characters throughout, and the atmospheric snippets of Greenlanders life and descriptions of bleak ice landscapes. On the other hand however, I found myself getting lost as the author jumps about, and I ended up confused by the different names as they popped in and out of the story. The ending is also slightly frustrating, but not as disastrous as other reviews suggest.
