I obviously have the bit between my teeth with this 'comfort food' urban fantasy series. This one, however, surprised me. There is a significant amount of speculation as to justifications for violence and whether absolute pacifism is a viable stance. The author clearly has his own take on this but the story in this book was an interesting framing device for considering this issue. No resolution of a moral conundrum that has plagued mankind since monkey 1 beat up monkey 2 for monkey 2's nuts, of course but the story left me pondering the issue which is good writing.
This remains entertaining stuff and if you like crunching through urban fantasy series with lots of books then this will certainly deliver. Recommended on that basis.
