what a disappointment.

written by the same author as Speak, i was looking forward to a much deeper book than this superficial tromp through prom-land.
plus her characters were not even appealing: an angry, disinterested near graduate (her anger never explained), a frenetic best friend (their relationship never given a base) and an boyfriend that doesn't seem like the heel (helping her dad with home renovations for free) that everyone - once she dumps him - finally claims he is. huh?

i guess it's a case of riding for free on her own coat tails... but she risks losing her audience as i'll be less likely to pick up anything else by her.
