So, Mira Grant's follow up to Newsflesh. For the first half of this I was unimpressed, it was very similar to Newsflesh. Same story structure with the wise but compromised matriarch living off the grid, creeping doom of infection etc. I was also unimpressed with the switch from knowledgeable protagonist to the ingenue-in-the-dark thing. Somewhere around the middle it took off and I devoured the rest in one sitting. I still feel it has flaws but there is potential, hence the 4 stars.
