A somewhat mediocre book

I don't know, I expected a bit more. There were some interesting Crete-specific factoids from WW2 and some awesome war stories (mostly involved endurance running, obviously), but the book is written in a rather meandering, disjointed way, and I found myself getting bored and having to power through some chapters.

Not bad, but nothing special.
