This is definitely a middle book, but I enjoyed it anyway. Essentially, the story focuses on the development of the relationship between Gwen & Gideon with a bit more information about the Count Saint Germain. My favorite characters are still Leslie and the new Xemerius, who is hilarious. I like that Gwen becomes more comfortable with the Power of the Raven. For the most part, this book is a collection of references to book one and foreshadowing to book three.
