Oh BOY. I really enjoyed the last two Lucy Stone mysteries I read - Christmas Carol Murder and Candy Corn Murder (I love a good Holiday themed cozy), so I was excited for more of the same with the romantic background of Paris. I was wrong. This book seemed to be the antithesis of the "love your fellow man" message of the Christmas Carol Murder. The characters spend what seems to be the entirety of their (free) trip to Paris complaining about France. The legal system, the society, the expensive cooking classes they get for free, the fact that roommates lock their doors, the fashion -- none of it is safe. Any dialogue not dedicated to bitching about France is reserved for racist stereotypes and assumptions about several cultures and countries simply lumped together as "Arab".
Remove the hastily thrown together murder and this would be almost indistinguishable from the …
