Review of 'Eyes of the Void' on 'Goodreads'

4 stars

I don't know why but I had it in my head that this would only be a 2 book series. It's not and this is the middle book.
Tchaikovsky continues to deliver quality entertainment here. I do feel this doesn't quite hit the heights of some of his other work and the decision to do 'straight' Space Opera is maybe the reason for that? Equally, it could just be my expectations colouring my impressions.
With that being said, this is still a very strong read with a deft touch with plotting and a few reveals out of nowhere. The large ensemble cast is used well and of course, in a middle book, there is space to flesh out their back story a bit.
A definite recommend.
