Paul reviewed Bridge 108 by Anne Charnock
Well written but too limited
2 stars
On reaching the final page of this book my first thought was: is that it? Nothing really happens in this story, even to the main character, though there’s some reasonable world building of a near-future dystopia. There’s minimal character development, very little in the way of background exploration (again with the exception of the main character, but even that is limited) and plot lines that aren’t tied up.
Overall, the content in this book is well written, there just isn’t much of it. A bit like when you have a reasonable meal out but the portions are far too small and you end up feeling unsatisfied.
