Our inspiration for The Community Auditorium Cookbook springs unquestionably from two sources. The tremendous allure of Opening Night, and the fantastic success of Kathy Johnston & Co. (a.k.a. - the movers and shakers behind The Best of Thunder Bay Cook Book).
We invited recipes from over 200 "celebrities" living across Canada and in Thunder Bay. These distinguished folk were also urged to submit favourite personal photographs for caricature. In deciding to dispense with traditional cookery illustrations, we hope to bring you new insight into yourselves and your community leaders while treating your palate to unprecedented delight.
Everyone's encouragement, advice, and enthusiasm has made it a pleasure to work on this project. Our only regret is that we are unable to publish all the wonderful recipes that our Thunder Bay residents have contributed to the cause. In the interest of fairness, we have simply set a quota for each recipe section …

Everyone's encouragement, advice, and enthusiasm has made it a pleasure to work on this project. Our only regret is that we are unable to publish all the wonderful recipes that our Thunder Bay residents have contributed to the cause. In the interest of fairness, we have simply set a quota for each recipe section and drew as many entries as space would permit. In all cases, only one recipe per person was accepted for publication, To all our contributors, a hearty "thank you" for sharing your treasured favourites with us.
In purchasing paid services (like printing), at least 3 bids were secured from local and regional businesses, and contracts were signed with regard to quality and cost minimization. We are very happy to report that at least $35,000 will be made available for lobby furnishing through our printing of 10,000 books.
