Death in the Stacks

This had a large complicated cast of characters that were underdeveloped. There were two unlikely groups of especially quirky characters who I suspect are from other series and that this is some kind of crossover, but if so it’s kind of a pointless crossover since they are not really involved in the mystery. The policewoman’s romance seems underwritten. The mystery itself was just dumb.

I do appreciate the chutzpah of having the book club discussing great crime writers. Hoping this was just a slump.
