Flynn's world

Boston police inspector Francis Xavier Flynn (''one of the smartest, gentlest, most sarcastic cops you will ever meet'' --The New York Times) has hardly gotten a wink of sleep after a marathon bout of detective work. He's discovered that his daughter's best friend has had his ear nailed to a tree. He's heard that the police chief is about to fire him--again. And he's learned that a local cop has developed a tendency to pursue and arrest the wrong people--based on the color of their skin. But the problem is that Flynn isn't really a cop. He's actually an international spy, and his spymaster wants him to forget everything else and concentrate on discovering who is blackmailing a certain Harvard professor. Along the way he confronts intolerence in all its guises. It's a typical plateful for Flynn, with the promise of a string of his typically atypical adventures, in this outrageously entertaining novel from the prodigious pen of Gregory McDonald.
