I think one of the most important lessons I learned this year is that Hope is not exclusively a feeling. It's a discipline. It's praxis. Hope can be created by simple and earnest acts. Pick up trash. Help control an invasive species population. Give food to your neighbor. Volunteer. Be kind as you can. Grow a plant.

I promise hope is out there, and if it isn't, you can make it.

Finished "Station Eleven" yesterday - what a wonderful, life-affirming show! No exaggeration to say it is one of most beautiful and thought-provoking works of art I've encountered. Such a breath of fresh air to see an apocalyptic narrative where people come together rather than fight each other. It really captures what is best about humanity. And I think its focus on community makes it an excellent example of or . MUST WATCH!

New character art of Atsushi & Kahali!
One of my favorite scenes, ever, was these two realizing they must work together after the ā€œtruceā€ between star beings & humans in The Chasm. Neither trusts the other, but their friendship is so much fun.

Two guys, Kahali on the left, hunched over to share an earbud with his new, much shorter human friend, Atsushi. Kahali, a star being musician, has never experienced recorded music before. Kahali has long black hair tied back in a ponytail and is wearing a fur and leather cape with the hood thrown back. Atsushi has medium length black hair in a short, high ponytail and is wearing an orange expedition parka. Atsushi is holding his comm in front of them and each of them is wearing one earbud. (Atsushi isnā€™t short. Star being males average seven feet in height.)

The drone closest to me settles on a wild pansy. Slowly, I move towards it, but stop a few feet away. It doesnā€™t react. How dumb are these things? No matter what Adriyel says, they will confuse the real pollinators.

Bile rises up, burning the back of my throat. No, research or not, I canā€™t let them ruin the habitat like this. Weā€™ve all suffered enough.
