Huge pay rises coming for the most deserving workers in the country: politicians
I'm sure this makes you feel better, doesn't it?

Thanks to Rachel Reeves’ ruthless cuts, which include reducing disability allowance, treating disabled people like scroungers and forcing them to look for work, you will be delighted to hear politicians have found enough money to give themselves a £2,558 pay rise!

I am an unarmed, largely defenseless white cis-het woman, so this regime is claiming to keep me "safe" from "criminal" immigrants, and from trans people who supposedly might attack me in a bathroom.

I just stood in a big crowd all afternoon with tons of people waving Mexican and Trans flags and could not have felt safer.

We were not just peaceful, we were positive, compassionate and encouraging.

Who makes me feel unsafe? Nazis.

I found a video of an exhibition called Memory Void from 2015 in Berlin's Jüdisches Museum. It shows 10,000 faces trampled by visitors. The work by Menashe Kadishman is dedicated to innocent victims of war and violence. So relevant today when so much of the right wing media focuses on othering and it is easy to imagine a world repeating the mistakes of the past and heading down a very dark path.

Right now, the rich and powerful are using controversial lawsuits to stop journalists and others from exposing corruption and wrongdoing.

These legal threats - known as SLAPPs - have been used to silence those uncovering the Post Office Horizon scandal, reporting on sexual harassment allegations against the owner of Harrods, and even covering the war in Ukraine.

"Thinkers like Jean-Paul Sartre and Hannah Arendt warned us that the point of this deluge is not to persuade, but to overwhelm and paralyze our capacity to act. More recently, researchers have found that the viral outrage disseminated on social media in response to these ridiculous claims actually reduces the effectiveness of collective action.

The result is a media environment that keeps us in a state of debilitating fear and anger, endlessly reacting to our oppressors instead of organizing against them."

Currently reading Travellers in the Third Reich, a book which documents everyday people's reactions to travelling within the Weimar Republic then Nazi Germany before World War II.

As you'd expect, it gets creepier and creepier as you go - as so many people don’t see what's going on underneath the surface vision of a state busily modernising. The section about the 1936 Olympics is particularly intriguing for that reason. Some people are awake though, and realise the horrors lying behind the curtain.

It's an intriguing read and often seems very familiar and timely... for, you know, reasons.

"Whether you are a liberal or a conservative in the United States it does not matter because you will be united in your hatred of people with left-wing politics.

It is politically advantageous to have the entire country hating the only political ideology that historically has been able to defeat fascism.

Liberalism is a right-wing ideology. It will not save you."
