Luke Mogelson: Storm Is Here (2022, Penguin Publishing Group) 5 stars

An in depth look at how the Proud Boys, Oath Keepers and other extremist groups joined up with MAGA to combine anti-vax, anti-mask sentiments with other alt-right theories (including QAnon craziness). Dives deep into the history that culminated with the 1/6 insurrection. Written by a veteran American foreign correspondent who brings a unique perspective, the book is compelling and revelatory.

Joshua Cohen: The Netanyahus (2021) 4 stars

A fun read and an interesting commentary, but I'm perplexed as to why it won a Pulitzer. The writing is fine but not spectacular, I enjoyed it but am not jumping up and down. I will recommend it to my friends, but will lower their expectations.
