Well, this was very much 'urban fantasy comfort food' reading. It was definitely built on the bones of Jim Butcher's work and maybe hewed a little too close to that template. The early Dresden Files easter egg was a bit too on the nose as a result.
That being said, decent entertainment was had. Very much just an enjoyable read. Enough so that I feel it can be recommended and I will probably continue with the series.
