A beautiful gut punch of a read.

In high school, our local WH Smith sold what I would call 'smut books'. they were shelved near the romances, and had romance-adjacent titles and covers, but it still took all my courage to finally bring one up to the cash register. After I confessed my deed to my out-of-town cousin, she bought one too from her local store and when our families visited, we'd exchange our books.
THIS book made me feel like I was right back in front of that smut selection in WH Smith. but I am too old for this shit now.
