Review of 'They may not mean to, but they do' on 'Goodreads'

at first I liked this book about how a woman survives her husband's illness, and then his death, and her attempts to manage her children's expectations of her. but ultimately it lacked direction and depressed me that an old lady is truly at the mercy of her children - they'll put her in a home when it suits them.
