crabbygirl reviewed The story of Arthur Truluv by Elizabeth Berg

I really enjoyed berg's the day I ate everything and so I expected something more than a warmed-over 100 year man who went out the window.
the character are a widower who pines for his wife by visiting her grave daily, his next door neighbor who bakes entirely too many cookies and cakes for anyone to eat, and a rebellious (not really) pregnant teenage girl who has a not-properly-explained poor relationship with her single parent father. the baker next door had all the hallmarks of the day I ate whatever I wanted, so maybe I've vaulted berg into a better writer than she is. as for the cute, toothless old men routine - i'm sick of it.
