"Truluv is a moving novel about three people who have lost the person they love most, and must find their way back to happiness. Arthur, a widower, meets Maddy, an angry and friendless teenage girl, while visiting his late wife at the cemetery, where he goes every day for lunch. Against all odds, the two strike up a friendship that pulls them out of a serious rut. They band together with Arthur's nosy neighbor Lucille, to create lives that are truly worth living. I really enjoyed berg's the day I ate everything and so I expected something more than a warmed-over 100 year man who went out the window.

the character are a widower who pines for his wife by visiting her grave daily, his next door neighbor who bakes entirely too many cookies and cakes for anyone to eat, and a rebellious (not really) pregnant teenage girl who has a not-properly-explained poor relationship with her single parent father. the baker next door had all the hallmarks of the day I ate whatever I wanted, so maybe I've vaulted berg into a better writer than she is. as for the cute, toothless old men routine - i'm sick of it.
