When the gods go off to war and don't come back, what is a small island to do?
A small island chain, think Hawaii, tries to survive by providing an approximation of gods. Constructs to which the market in souls can be pegged. Priests as salesmen and stockbrokers. But the islands are changing and this is what the book is about.
An enjoyable tale, sharply written and continues this series well. Recommended.
