Frank Burns reviewed Descent by Ken MacLeod
Review of 'Descent' on 'Goodreads'
4 stars
Well, this was an unexpected treat. I have felt Ken MacLeod's later period stuff has lacked something and the last one was just downright depressing. This was much better. Tight and gripping. I enjoyed the postivity of his central premise. A fresh take on the postwar consensus and a possible 'happy' ending for the state of the world as we currently see it. I actually felt the whole UFO bit was superfluous but that's just personal taste. Given I stayed up until I had finished it I think I can safely say it is a page turner.
