The last 3 books of the series all happen in a relatively short timeframe in-universe (like a week or so) which gives them a breakneck feel.
The previous book was about the choice to power up and accepting the consequences of that.
This book was about dealing with a few major enemies before the final denouement in the last book. This was done in a fashion that could best be described as ... crunchy. There is one sub-plot that had 'redemption arc' written all over it through the series but how it is ended here is a total surprise (and not all a wuss out).
Devoured in no time and totally enjoyed. Recommended.
