I have been looking for a book that covers how the oil industry works for a while now. I've found plenty of books to focus on up-stream or down-stream, the history, or politics. I've found even more that focus on peak oil and various views of environmental effects. This is the first book that covers the industry in the way I wanted to learn about it. I've finished it feeling truly enlightened. We depend on oil so much in our lives that I am quite surprised that it took me this long to educate myself on it. The author did an outstanding job in detailing a comprehensive view of the industry from history to exploration to retail to trading oil futures. I kept finding myself saying, "Oh! That's how that works!" throughout. If you trade oil, work in the industry, or are just curious about it, I highly recommend this …
