Well, this was an entertaining slice of Mil SF.
Firstly, I should say the gender politics in here are bad and there is no queer representation. It is also MilSF with some of the inherent issues of that sub-genre. These issues do not stop it being a rollicking read.
Very much an entertainment and not a thought provoker although the author avoids making his future society Star Trek clean and shows a seedy underbelly which means some though was definitely put into it.
I went through most of this in one sitting after not expecting much. Recommended as 'brain in neutral' entertainment.
