Good lord this was a mess. Tighter editting was definitely needed. Expanding from one PoV char to 4 was never going to be a smooth transition but there is a definite sense of an author reaching for something big and falling short. I am still giving it 3 stars as it is well written (and I thought the first one was fantastic).
