Kate returns from a post-break-up holiday with her girlfriends to news of a serial killer in her home town - and his victims all look like her. It could, of course, be a simple coincidence. Or maybe not. She becomes convinced she is being watched; followed, even. Is she next? And could her mild-mannered ex-boyfriend really be a deranged murderer? Or is the truth something far more sinister?

Review of 'Killing Kate' on 'Goodreads'

4 stars

Again, the killer was predictable very early on here - it's unlike me to be right twice in a row, but this author's style is fast becoming definitive.

That aside, it was a thrilling and satisfying end all round, and I enjoyed the denouement (although a hint as to Andrea's vocation or access to key ingredients would've perhaps been useful. I look forward to more complex and variegated works from Lake in the future.
