In K-Drama Land they are making something called "makjang" stories. These stories are actually so bad that people love to watch it even more than other good quality Dramas and they get high ratings. Evil step mom screaming at people without a reason, characters creating conflict where there is none, plot holes that don't make sense, etc. I think it's because people love to argue about it. They watch it because it's so unbelievable bad, they can gossip about it.
When reading the kiss thief, I had the same feeling. It was so. very. gross.
I am ashamed that a female writer wrote this. Someone who should know that we do not deserve this kind of abuse and that you really don't fall for such a character. Abusive relationships are horrid, and you can't turn them right like nothing happened. Not like this.

This was the worst new adult I ever read, and let's be honest, they are all bad. It's what we read when do not want to think, when we feel exhausted or lonely and just want a sold feel good dream of unrealistic plastic happiness.
I miscalculated with that one. Most of these books can be categorised as some kind of abusive (not all of them) But this topped whatever I have read before. Don't support it. Read Vicious. Vicious was nice.
