Kingdom Come is a 2006 novel by the British writer J. G. Ballard. It is the last novel written by him before his 2009 death. The book deals with the supposed blurry line between consumerism and fascism. It also deals with the suburban environment and the psychogeography of such places.

Set in a fictional shopping mall around Brooklands, seemingly more exciting than the real life one.
The narrator's father was shot in the shopping centre, but the killer was released without charge. The narrator stays on after the funeral, to find out why his father was killed.
Consumers of the motorway towns are attracted to madness to overcome boredom, and join nationalist sports groups, wearing England flags as identification. They start following a media star as a figurehead, and riot against immigrants. The Government is observing, treating the events as an experiment.
Eventually, the media star figurehead dies, then the real leaders appear...
