While I'd like Baldacci to draw some conclusions regarding Atlee's search for Mercy, each of the three novels provides a good thrill ride with the combined mystery's: Mercy & the book specific issue.
I particularly like the mystery in this plot. Sometimes Baldacci's crimes hit close to home, and this one definitely does for me. I'm not particularly akin to conspiracy theories, but some of the real behaviors in contemporary politics have made me wonder if the influence campaign in this fiction is happening in the real world to some extent. Who knows? Just a theory.
The revelations around Atlee's kidnapped sister were unexpected to say the least, and heartbreaking. I do hope this plot is resolved in the next novel. I'm not sure I can take multiple-more years to read a resolution.
