Very good summary of both the history/prediction then the discovery of the Higgs Boson and the development of the Large Hadron Collider at CERN, with a good description of what the Higgs Boson and Higgs Fields do. There are appendices which go into slightly more technical detail.
I'm intrigued by the idea of bosons eating other bosons, so now I need to find another book to find out about their diet.
