Review of 'The cake that was baked at home' on 'Goodreads'
4 stars
A really important book that revealed the life and work of the best foreign minister we ever had.
While giving the book all its merits, I do have a feeling that it could have been much more better. The overall organisation of content of the book needs to be improved. At many time, I felt that the story line is a bit disorganised, jumping here and there. There are big chunks of quotations after quotations which could have been reduced by the author putting her own narrative foremost. A book of this nature needs the service of an experienced editor, which can be the weak point in this book.
Anyway, in overall, I'm glad that I read it and grateful to the author for creating this broad coverage of Mr. Kadirgamar.
