We meet Ashlynn Ella, the daughter of Cinderella, who feels that she must take up the story where her mom's had left off. Unfortunately Cinderella meets an untimely demise and her princely father has remarried. Ashlynn can talk to animals and animals can talk to her back and thus the reason why she does not eat meat whatsoever. After all, who would want to eat something that can talk back to them?

I love fairytales especially those with either a retelling of the story or one with a cit of a twist to them. This book was a bit short for my tastes and perhaps it was due to the fact it was mainly used as a short introduction. I am hoping that my opinion might change later as I take a chance on reading the other books for this series.
