A disappointing end to an otherwise good series

A disappointing end to the series. As well as the actual ‘last battle’ being a flop, the main characters engage in blackface (but don’t worry, they can return to being ‘white Narnians’), and the enemies are referred to as ‘darkies’. Any bad behaviour by male characters is told off for being feminine (e.g. ‘scolding like a kitchen girl’) and one female character doesn’t return because she’s too busy with makeup and lipstick. This book could do with a warning like some TV series and films: was written in the 1950s and contains references which would (hopefully) not be published today.
