This series is exactly what I need for summer reading. The dialogue is natural and well-written. The story is sweet, steamy, just a touch of angst without going too far into eye-rolling territory, and just a few subtle O.C. references. My daughter and I are binge watching The O.C. this summer, so this feels a little like a spin-off. :)
I really appreciate the take on family dynamics in this series as well. Many authors tend to go with the ends of the spectrum, totally accepting family, or totally rejecting family. This series explores some of that middle ground of reluctant acceptance, tolerance and denial that gets missed much of the time.
I enjoyed the Status Update, but I think I liked Beta Test even more. I wish the next one was coming out sooner, but I guess I will have to fill my summer with other stories in the …
