I'd really love a simple mobile app for #Bookwyrm, so I can do updates to what I'm reading, add interesting quotes, etc.
I'm usually pretty computer-first, but reading books is an exception, as I tend to do that when a computer isn't in sight.

Reminder that if you use the (wonderful) tool that is #Bookwyrm, it is also a good idea to contribute on #OpenLibrary if you have the spare time to do so!
Decided to give #BookWyrm a whirl because as much as I love #Goodreads, it sadly is owned by Amazon. I have signed up with @ramblingreaders, and you can find me here https://ramblingreaders.org/user/okwithmydecay
Now also on #Bookwyrm as @Strathearnrose@bookwyrm.social where eventually you’ll be able to see my nothing if not eclectic taste in books!! #Bookstodon

Vibes of "A slow regard for silent things" by Patrick Rothfuss. A lovely story, a lovely world, for lovely people.
T. Kingfisher has been writing some great stuff lately!
So if you want a book to be added to #Goodreads, you have to write a post in the Goodreads Librarians forum group and wait until somebody has found the time to add it. They advice you to bump your post after a couple of weeks (!).
On #Bookwyrm you click one button and the book is imported.
Ever since my stroke I've struggled with reading books, something which I used to love prior to 3rd February 2002.
But this year as part of my exploration of the #Fediverse I discovered #BookWyrm and, specifically, @ramblingreaders and set myself a challenge to read 52 books in 2023. Never thought I'd succeed to be honest but I did and you can see them all logged here.

‘It’s totally unhinged’: is the book world turning against Goodreads? https://www.theguardian.com/books/2023/dec/18/goodreads-review-bombing
I hate Goodreads. The site is just a continuation of Amazon as a surveillance capitalist nightmare, one that's never updated. Bugs are rife.
I prefer Bookwyrm and The StoryGraph:

Desde hace un par de meses uso #bookwyrm, y muy contento de haber salido de ese lodazal en el que se ha convertido goodreads en los últimos tiempos.
Goodreads has too much power for its moderation to be this bad

Do you know there's a #fediverse alternative to Amazon-owned #Goodreads? #BookWyrm is a social network for tracking your reading, writing reviews, and discovering what to read next. You can follow and interact with users on different #BookWyrm instances and on #Mastodon. You can import from a Goodreads CSV export. You can create private shelves and curated lists. Join us at https://ramblingreaders.org or choose one of the other instances available #books #reading #bookstodon @bookstodon
Started my move from #goodreads to #bookwyrm. At first I was impressed at how easy it was to export all my data from goodreads. And then they said it could take a month to process.
Meanwhile, I did a complete backup of my #mastodon account and it was done in less than 10 min :-)
