Connie Palmen: Voornamelijk vrouwen (Hardcover, Dutch language, 2023, Prometheus) No rating

Haar hele lezende leven al is Connie Palmen gebiologeerd door vrouwelijk kunstenaarschap. In Voornamelijk vrouwen …

Just cracked open my fresh copy of "Voornamelijk vrouwen" by Connie Palmen! Talk about fashionably late Christmas presents - this one took its sweet time getting here, but good things come to those who wait, right?

At this point my Palmen collection is reaching slightly obsessive levels, but can you blame me? Her writing style hits that sweet spot between philosophical depth and raw humanity that just draws you in. There's something about the way she peels back layers of human experience that makes you feel like she's reading your diary while simultaneously teaching you quantum physics.

@RunalongWomble good afternoon, I'm good thanks I hope you are well too

I'm currently reading The Saga of the People of Laxardal and Bolli Bollason's Tale as I got most of the Penguin Classics translations of Norse/Icelandic Sagas for Christmas and my Birthday so they will be popping up the next few months

My favourite read of the year was A History of the Roman Empire in 21 Women by Emma Southon. I'm looking forward to re-reading it next year

Good morning from a chilly, showery and blustery Sheffield, I hope you are all well

1. Switched my default browser back to Firefox which I haven't used for years

2. Bought some new PC games in the Steam Winter Sale

3. Really enjoying the book I'm reading at the moment which is The Bone Chests by Cat Jarman although a lot of the King's names are pretty similar at the moment starting with Aethl- and then different endings

@RunalongWomble hello, happy Sunday, I hope you are well? I'm currently reading The Rabbit Hole Book by Richard Coles, Cat Jarman and Charles Spencer but I haven't started it yet as I have just finished reading Britain's Birds by Jo Woolf which was looking at the folklore as well as facts about some of the birds that live and visit the British Isles and has gorgeous illustrations of the birds

"Sexuality and gender are individual experiences; people are entitled to opinions and, vitally, we need to be able to make mistakes." - Juno Dawson (📖 This Book Is Gay, page 5)

Not sure when to share quotes from a book, while I am currently reading it or after? Yes I am currently reading this book. I think if people would read more and listen more, they would argue less.
