This book was not really for me. I'm glad I read it. Learning more about his life was really interesting and, as always, I highly recommend the audiobook for this because hearing it in his own voice was cool. What I didn't love was the style advice. Mostly because I don't really enjoy most style advice. I'm a big fan of "fuck the rules. If you like it, wear it. It'll be great" and find hard and fast rules like "this is never a good look" to be absurd. BUT people looking for style advice would find that really helpful. I could definitely do with far less of men (including queer men) telling women how much sexier modesty is. There's a point when he mentions that dressing in a certain way just because men like it isn't great, but then follows it up with what he thinks women should wear so ¯_(ツ)_/¯
tldr: if you like style advice and Tan France this may be the book for you. If you find style advice judgmental maybe skip that part, but his story is interesting.
