Who knew there was a post-Victorian lovecraftian cosmic horror story set near Ardrahan of all places! The actual location is fictional but it sounds a lot like the Burren.

Kinda repetitive dialogue, and an obvious “twist”, but still a fun read. On to the next one!

I hope this is good. This series (which I really enjoyed!) was “finished” in 2014, and then she released this new book, the first in a new story arc, in 2020. Fingers crossed it’s not just a cash grab!

A good stepping stone for things to come, but waaay too much explaining stuff from earlier books we already know and not much actual action. I get that she has to think about new readers but… it gets boring.

What a fantastic finale to this series! Fast paced (compared to the other books anyway), heartbreaking in places but ultimately a very satisfying conclusion.

I’ve enjoyed this series but most of the books have been a bit of a slog to get through.

Flying through these last few though; I think it’s because the narrative is jumping between the characters more often. Feels more energetic as we get close to the last battle!
