Stiefvater is excellent at writing characters, have I mentioned that?
This book is pretty obviously an earlier endeavor than Shiver, and doesn't really pick up steam until the last 1/3. The ending is excellent, one of the few cases where a really abrupt and unexpected denoument works very well. Will certainly be picking up the sequel.
