Sinclair McKay: The Secret Life of Bletchley Park 4 stars

Review of 'The Secret Life of Bletchley Park' on 'Goodreads'

Profoundly interesting in terms of what was achieved and how but the tone of the book is pompous and sexist. It makes it sound like Bletchley Park was a secret university for posh people who also put on plays and performed opera. I feel the emphasis should have remained on the technical prowess and war time effect on strategy at that time. Don't bother with the book: go to the museum. It will fill you with wonder and respect for what happened there!
