Frank Burns reviewed Jade Legacy by Fonda Lee
Review of 'Jade Legacy' on 'Goodreads'
5 stars
Yep, 5 stars for this and the whole series.
The elevator pitch for this series was surely the Godfather meets urban fantasy. For me, however, this was more one of those sprawling family sagas that were so common in the 1980's (and that teenage me probably read a few of) with added magic/superpowers. A guilty pleasure then, to be sure, but delightfully delivered here and now.
The reason I have rated all of these books so highly is the characters. You really were carried with them on their life's journey and the writing always had that 'want to know what happens next' quality.
A special note here on this third and final entry in the series is that Lee really stuck the ending. You can tell real care was taken to finish properly. A satisfying book was delivered here but a proper ending to the series as well.
Highly recommended.
