This was an enjoyable romp with a nice knockabout energy. I liked that the science was spot on (author is a genticist) and the necessary handwavium to make the science in the book work was just given a mystic spin and then ignored. A nice touch, the handwavium doesn't always need to be explored.
This is a debut novel and I am afraid the characters are a little wooden and one-dimensional. However, this did not detract greatly from my enjoyment of the book.
It's a recommend from me.
