Frank Burns reviewed The Trouble with Peace by Joe Abercrombie

Highly enjoyable Abercrombie. This book continues on his industrial revolution development of his fantasy society. A bold take as most fantasy authors keep their psuedo-feudal societies locked in a certain period (sometimes for millenia) as if progress was not a thing.
Progress is definitely a thing here as there is also a note of pathos as the old guard of characters fades into the background and his new characters come to the fore.
All the usual flourishes are here and the book just skips along. It is definitely the continuation of a series, you couldn't just jump in here but then that is true of most fantasy output.
Recommended.
