Just scrapes 4 stars. Now that may seem like faint praise but this was actually decent. Punchy urban fantasy noir which played a little with the normal tropes. However, you can definitely tell its a first book as there is a sense of the author finding their feet in the setting. That being said, the hero and his motivations were a little too stock for my tastes. Definite potential though and seeing as I bought an omnibus of the first 4 I will be delving deeper into this series. Recommended.
