A. J. Simmonds: The gentile comes to Cache Valley (1976, Utah State University Press) 4 stars

Review of 'The gentile comes to Cache Valley' on 'Goodreads'

4 stars

Cache Valley straddles the Utah/Idaho border. The format was challenging (so many footnotes should have been endnotes or incorporated into the main text; the first half of the book was narrative history & second half was mostly biographical appendices) but the information is priceless. I wish Simmonds had addressed the various religious communities's relations with & impact on the native Shoshone, whose land they occupied. A topic for another book I suppose.
