I love Susan Ee. I love that she can write action packed fast-paced mad stories, that suck you in and won't let you go, until you turned the last page. The prose is not pretty, but effective, down to the things that really matter. Things are left out, so you can focus on the action that is happening. But I am so disappointed that after waiting for so long for her next book, she chooses to retell a fairy tell. I am so sick of fairy tale retellings. Yes, I like fairy tales too, yes we can listen to a fairy tell again and again, but is there boring else YA authors can use as material? Why always, always the same stupid fairy tales? Cinderella, beauty and the beast and the little mermaid... Why not the seven ravens, snow white and rose red or the puss in boots? Take greek myths, viking myths, develope your own fairy tales, idc, just stop writing the same stories again and again.

Although to be fair, Susan Ee did write a different Cinder than others beforehand, it is very twisted and different and a fast read but I can't get over my disappointment, when I realized it was a cinderella retelling.
