the story's dark overtones of humanity turning on itself is still reminiscent of The Walking Dead, but the artwork is striking and makes me want more. in a scene where the hybrid boy is hypnotized, he walks along his own antlers as he regresses into the past. at some point he enters his own ear canal for comfort - hinting at the lies/stories we tell ourselves in order to get through a trauma.
