There is a brilliant story and world buried in this book somewhere. I listened to the audiobook version and, maybe due to the lack of the hefty appendix from the paper version, but I was fairly confused throughout. The pacing felt off as well with fairly dull overly wordy sections breaking up the story. I was glad when I got to the end which is never a good sign.
