I found this much more enjoyable than I thought I might, and I find Holly Gibney growing on me after what I thought was a disappointing end to the Bill Hodges books. There are elements of The Dark Half and Desperation creeping through this, two of my favourite King books, which give what starts as a detective tale a disturbing undercurrent from the beginning that grows all the way to the finish.
