I recall being really impatient with the storyline of Sazed trying to prove that he's right to be depressed by debunking every religion in his encyclopedia. I felt like it was an atheist straw man written by a theist, as well as just being generally a bummer. My last time through this was several years ago, though, so I'm going to try to keep an open mind on this reread.
